Aug. 7, 2012 - PRLog -- "Continuing with math for kids and how the abacus is used to teach kids math, moving two and three beads up the abacus all together at one time will be referred to and known as the numbers two or three accordingly. As an example for parents who are interested in sending their children to the Math Genie school, in order to learn abacus math, kids are taught addition and subtraction by pushing two beads up to the top of one vertical rod in the abacus followed by pushing up or adding another two beads to make four beads that are held at the top of the abacus rod. Then the child or math tutor using the abacus then drops three of the beads down or subtracts the three beads down from the four leaving one bead and then subtracts the last bead from the original total of four which will show the result of zero beads that are left from the original four beads".

"This is a simplistic example to deliver math for kids and shows how the abacus is used to teach kids math at Math Genie. As a result of kids being taught abacus math and knowing how to use the abacus to solve math problems in this way, kids can see and feel something concrete when solving their math problems. In other words, by moving and feeling the beads on the abacus the children can touch and feel the solution to their everyday math problems as opposed to giving them some abstract numbers that they cannot physically and emotionally identify with. As a result of this math teaching technique or instruction the kids learn far more effectively. At Math Genie all the kids are taught in a classroom setting".

"At Math Genie abacus math for kids are taught in class sizes that are set at a maximum of four kids per class for the age group of five years and younger. Kids that are older and fall in the age group from five to eleven years have their class size set to a maximum of seven kids per class. Every child learns at their own pace and all kids learn differently. Some kids are auditory and learn through hearing and listening while other kids are more visual and learn through their eyes by looking and watching. Other kids are kinaesthetic. Kinaesthetic learning, which is also known and referred to as tactile learning, is a way of learning that takes place by the child when the child is actually performing or conducting a physical activity, rather than the child listening to a lecture or watching a demonstration by the professional math tutor. This is where cool math games for kids are used at the Math Genie School in order to cater for those children that learn in this kinaesthetic manner".
