Chiropractic Saves Batman and the Day

The world has always looked for heroes, but even heroes need a little saving from time to time. In the Dark Knight Rises it was the principles of chiropractic that helped save Batman.

Aug. 3, 2012 - PRLog -- The world and its citizens are constantly looking for a hero to save the day. Even as far back as Bible times men and women have looked to individuals with strong principles and who are willing to go to extraordinary means, in some case using “super powers”,  to bring change and justice to the world.
The story of Moses parting the red sees is one of the earliest cases of a super hero.  Later on individuals like Alexander the Great and William Wallace inspired their people to new heights. Greek mythology has almost too many heroes to count including Achilles, Odysseus and Ajax. Later literature includes characters like King Arthur and Robin Hood.
Today many people look to comic books for super heroes with special powers endowed to them by either technology or mythology.  Spiderman gets bit by a radioactive spider and Superman is sent to Earth from another planet. Regardless of how they achieve their results they are always working for a cause greater than themselves while attempting to put aside any personal demons at temporarily.
One such character and one who has taken special prominence over the last few years is Batman/Bruce Wayne played by Christian Bale. He attempts to bring justice and truth to Gotham City through a combination of advanced technology, finely tuned martial arts skills and determination of character.
In the latest chapter “Dark Knight Rises” he is fighting the villain Bane who takes over Gotham City and threatens it with a nuclear device. (Spoiler Alert) During violent fight scene between Bane and Batman Bane delivers a blow to Batman’s back that severely injures him and leaves him temporarily crippled.
This is where chiropractic comes into the story. Bruce Wayne is lying in an ancient prison trying to recover but unable to do so due to his injury. At this time an old prison comes to him with a potential solution.
He begins by placing him in traction using a rope wrapped under his arms. Then he explains the reason he is unable to recover is that he has a bone in his lower back that is sticking out. In an earlier scene we see a picture of Bruce Wayne’s back and there is no bone protruding threw the skin so we know that he is talking about a displacement AKA subluxation. The old man then delivers a rather violent blow to his lower back causing Bruce to scream out in pain. From this time on Bruce begins his long slow recovery and eventually….. Well I won’t give too much away but he does recover nicely.
While many may argue over the validity of the treatment rendered by the old man, including “setting” a bone and traction it is the principle to which I pain attention. A bone out of place caused serious pain and dysfunction. Once the bone was back in place then the body began to heal itself.
This is one of the major foundations of chiropractic. Align the spine, remove the stress, give the body what it needs and let it heal itself. This is how chiropractic saves Batman.
Most of us are not super heroes; at least not outside of our families and a selected few others but the same principles apply to us. If we want to do the job we are put on earth to do to the best of our ability then we owe it to ourselves and others to take of our bodies the best way we know how.
And for those of us who are super heroes (they call me Captain Alignment and my super power is innate intelligence) then we owe it to those future victims we would not be able to save to maintain our spinal health. Chiropractic saved Batman, maybe it can save you too.
At Glanville Family Chiropractic and Wellness we are committed to bringing out the super hero in you and helping you discover your innate intelligence. Visit our website today at http://www.glanvillechiro.com/.
