Are American Public Schools Teaching Students to Hate America?

In his latest book, author David Pimentel discusses whether it is constitutional to present questionable religious prayers and practices in public schools since the Supreme Court banned such lessons fifty years ago.

Aug. 2, 2012 - PRLog -- In his new book, “AMERICA'S LAST STAND?”, author David Pimentel asks whether the public schools in America will be the place of the last stand against the many enemies of America. In the book, Pimentel discusses whether the textbooks and curriculum are being fair in their presentation of American and Islamic history in the classroom. Pimentel argues that it is unfair to teach students that America is an imperialist nation while the lessons present Islam in a completely positive light.  Since the new history textbooks are so critical of America's success and achievements, Pimentel believes that students will learn to have contempt for their own country.

Pimentel also states that he is disappointed that the current trend in education is to label Americans as racist simply because they practiced slavery while at the same time no other country or government is criticized for their past or present practice of slavery. The author believes that this trend is likely to continue since even the president does not believe that America is exceptional. Pimentel argues that America is exceptional not only because it provides and protects freedom but it quickly offers aid to any country that is suffering from natural disasters, such as the recent earthquakes that struck Haiti and Japan.

“AMERICA’S LAST STAND?” is available on Amazon and other online bookstores.
