Follow on Google News | C.W. Driver Announces Formation of Driver URBANNew independent company will target multi-family, mixed-use projects in Southern and Northern California
“Backed by C.W. Driver, a 93-year-old firm possessing experience, longevity and financial strength, our new venture will continue to offer the highest levels of sophistication and technology that the parent company is known to provide,” said C.W. Driver president Dana Roberts, who noted that the company is managed out of C.W. Driver’s Irvine office. “With a team of industry experts and an emphasis on innovative building practices, Driver URBAN is able to share C.W. Driver’s resources as it pursues projects in the multi-family, mixed-used, and other target markets.” Driver URBAN is already making an impact in the market and has recently broken ground on two projects in Los Angeles. The AVANT project, located at 1340 S. Figueroa in the South Park neighborhood of Downtown Los Angeles, is a $34 million development near L.A. Live and the Staples Center. This 247-unit, mixed-use development will provide centrally-located, well-appointed apartments and 11,000 square-feet of ground-level retail space. The second project, located in the dynamic Koreatown District of Los Angeles, is a $17 million multi-family development that will provide 130 apartment units. “Demand for higher density, urban living environments is rapidly increasing as people are seeking a more luxurious lifestyle conveniently located in metropolitan destinations,” Joining Chartrand on the Driver URBAN management team are David Pintar, director of business development and Nathan Deal, senior estimator. John Thornton, executive vice president and principal for C.W. Driver commented, "We have assembled an unbelievably talented group of multi-family industry veterans who share C.W. Driver's core values of integrity, leadership, respect, loyalty, commitment and teamwork. We saw a clear gap in the market for a sophisticated company to deliver unparalleled quality and service while having the ability to be very cost competitive.” Familiar with new business ventures, C.W. Driver has found success in recent endeavors. In 2011, the firm formed a new independent company, Driver SPG, that focuses on renovation, adaptive re-use, and smaller-scale new construction projects. As a testament to its work, Driver SPG is completing six simultaneous projects on the Caltech campus in Pasadena, Calif., where the company has been entrusted with upgrading the facilities to accommodate the growing needs of the campus while protecting and embracing the historical significance of the university grounds. Both new C.W. Driver ventures are committed to providing the same level of superior quality and client service that has made C.W. Driver a success for more than 93 years. About C.W. Driver C.W.
