Softonic expands its offices in Barcelona

July 31, 2012 - PRLog -- Barcelona July 31st 2012 - Softonic, Europe and Latin America's top website for software downloads and a market leader worldwide, has enlarged its main facilities in Barcelona by opening a new floor. The company's workforce, which currently stands at 290 employees representing 32 different nationalities, has increased by 25% over the past year, a figure that called for the creation of new work spaces and leisure areas.

This is the company's third headquarters extension done in the past two years. Covering more than 6,000 square meters distributed along five different floors, Softonic's main offices include two dining halls, four cafeterias, a library, relaxation and massage spaces as well as other areas where employees can play video games, table soccer, pinball or ping-pong, among other leisure activities. José Sánchez, Creative Director at Softonic and the designing mind behind these new spaces, explains that "Our goal is to provide employees with an environment they enjoy working in, not just for the aesthetics, but because they all find it comfortable and pleasant.  The fact that the design was done by an employee of the company was a great advantage, as all the inspiration came from the staff and how they use their working space”.
