Ready, steady... Mobile World Congress!

Feb. 20, 2013 - PRLog -- To mark the eighth edition of the Mobile World Congress, the software experts from Softonic have been studying the evolution of mobile communication over the years. In the form of an infographic, the company presents a summary of the most important product launches since the first edition of the conference and reveals the most downloaded mobile apps. In the US, the most downloaded mobile app is Tube Mate, followed by MP3 Music Download and Facebook.

Since the first MWC was held in 2006, global mobile usage has broken records year after year, with numbers reaching 6,000 million global users in 2012. Technology companies have adapted to this growth by launching products which have marked a turning point in the mobile user experience. Some of the most important launches have been Yahoo One Connect (2007), Google Android (2008), Microsoft's Windows Phone (2012), the launch of Foursquare in five new languages (2011) amongst many others.

Furthermore, Softonic, the global online software guide, have recommended an essential app kit for conference attendees so they do not miss a single detail. Among the most recommended are GSMA, the official MWC app, and Hereon.biz, designed for business networking. Softonic also remembers all those who travel to the largest mobile technology conference and includes useful travel applications on their list.
