PRSUN Communications Celebrates 10 Years of Independent Media

Puerto Rico Sun Communications, an independent online media business registered in the Bronx, celebrates its 10th anniversary with a July 21st networking celebration at Joe’s Place. Event is open to public, but please RSVP.

July 18, 2012 - PRLog -- Clarisel González is a Bronx-based multimedia journalist and social entrepreneur. She founded Puerto Rico Sun, her grassroots e-magazine project when she lived in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  Today Puerto Rico Sun Communications (PRSUN) is an independent online media business registered in the Bronx. This year PRSUN celebrates its 10th anniversary with a July 21st networking celebration at Joe’s Place in the Parkchester section of the Bronx.

PRSUN produces several media projects, including Puerto Rico Sun, Bronx Latino, Clarisel’s Photo Place, and the Bronx Entrepreneurs and Business Network. PRSUN has a social and business mission of informing, empowering, and building community since 2002. All of PRSUN’s multimedia products are closely tied to this mission. PRSUN is currently a shiner (member) at Sunshine Bronx, the new business incubator in Hunts Point.

As part of the celebration, the 2012 Puerto Rico Sun Communications Awards will be given to leaders who exemplify the mission of informing, empowering, and building community and who were nominated by members in the PRSUN online network.

Special thanks to the Rev. Carmen Hernández of the NYC LGBTQS Chamber of Commerce for working with PRSUN to organize and make this event happen in support of local business.
