Equity website by netXtra wins ‘Best Trade Union Website’ at TUC Comms Awards

July 4, 2012 - PRLog -- Equity, the UK trade union for professional performers and creative practitioners, scooped the award for the Best Trade Union Website at the recent TUC Communications Awards – another award winning site designed and developed by membership online communications specialist netXtra.

The website – http://www.equity.org.uk – was described by the judges as “Bright, bold and eye-catching”. They went on to say “Equity’s site was a clear winner for the judges for the clarity of its presentation. This accolade is particularly significant given the high standard of those shortlisted. TUC General Secretary Brendan Barber had earlier acknowledged the category’s exceptional quality this year saying “The biggest growth has been in the website and e-communications categories, showing unions are facing up to the challenge of communicating effectively through new media.”

The recently launched website, with its intuitive design, focuses upon greater interaction with new and existing members, giving them the opportunity to play a more active role within the Union.
