Congratulations to Dr. Georg Isbary, winner of the Plasma Medicine prize at ICPM4!

Adtec Europe are excited to extend our best wishes to Dr. Georg Isbary from the Dermatology department of Hospital Munich-Schwabing who was honoured at the 4th International Conference on Plasma Medicine in Orleans last week!

June 27, 2012 - PRLog -- For a few years now, Dr. Isbary has been involved in the clinical trials of Adtec’s MicroPlaSter system at his hospital and his research has shown that Plasma medicine is very promising indeed. His research focuses mainly on the treatment of chronic wounds – a problem that plagues between 1-2% of the population of Germany. The patients under his care tend to have wounds which are permanently open and infected and which do not respond well to traditional treatments. Thanks to his work, it has become known that treating the affected area with cold atmospheric plasma (CAP), as produced by our MicroPlaSter, shows a measurable improvement of the wound compared with wounds that did not receive the same treatment, without causing damage to surrounding healthy tissue.

We wish him all the best in his further research and hope to hear more about his findings as they are published in future! With his help perhaps it is only a matter of time before this type of treatment can be used to help more patients with similar skin conditions.
