June 26, 2012 - PRLog -- Valedictorian Andre Allen is used to being a leader, Andre’an exceptional  student  with awards in English, Mathematics, French, and Science Allen has  lead the pack with his 4.0 GPA since middle school.
For Andre’, being named Valedictorian signified the culmination of years of hard work and dedication.

“Being the valedictorian is validation for all the effort and work that has gone into my education since kindergarten when I was learning how to read while others had nap time,” said Allen. “I am the valedictorian because my family has always supported me and guided me.”

In fact Andre’s Valedictorian speech brought his mother and Father to tears as he pointed out it was their example he had followed and their willingness to allow him to choose his own path toward success that he cherished most.
Andre Allen juggled extra-curricular activities with his academics throughout his high school career as a leader in Athletics, the Drama and French clubs as well as an active participant in musical theatre, which put on productions such as “Hairspray,” “Little Shop of Horrors” and “Les Miserables.”
“I have always loved entertaining people, acting and telling a story,” said Allen. “The opportunity that the musical gives me each year to create a vibrant synthesis of these passions cannot be overstated.”

In the fall, Allen will attend Yale University where he will study ethics, politics and economics. Allen plans to work for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Some would say that his achievements are amazing but what is more amazing is that his excellence is among those who have achieved an excellence as a student body.
In 2012 over 19 Fayette County schools were awarded for academic performance by the Georgia Governor's Office of Student Achievement and Sandy Creek  won two recognitions by the Georgia Governor's Office of Student Achievement which recognizes outstanding public schools for high academic performance. The state awards were given in two categories: greatest gain, for schools that showed the greatest improvement in scores on the Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT) or the Georgia High School Graduation Test (GHSGT), and/or highest performance, for schools that demonstrated the highest achievement on the CRCT or GHSGT. Sandy Creek High School was the only school to earn an award in each.  Andre the Valedictorian of Sandy Creek High School is one of the reasons his school also received a Platinum award for greatest gain. Only North Fayette and SCHS received Platinum awards in this category. These two schools made AYP for three consecutive years with a minimum of 35 percent of students exceeding standards and scoring in the 98th percentile of greatest gains with Andre Allen leading all scores.  The Fayette county school also boasts some of the highest SAT scores in the country for the past 3 years and was recognized as such by the Georgia Office of Public Information Newsletter “By The Way’ (BTW). But academic excellence is not all that Andre Allen excels in his senior year as an athlete and on his junior year was one of the leads in the The Sandy Creek High School Chorus and Drama Production of “Les Miserables School Edition” which received six nominations in the 2010 Shuler Hensley Awards for Excellence in High School Musical Theatre. Andre was also chosen to perform at the opening and closing of the awards show, modeled after Broadway’s Tony awards, held at the Cobb Energy Centre. Sunkwa International praises this student who has been accepted at Yale and promises to be a bright light for the future.
