Tampa Law Firm Sponsors Motorcycle Benefit for Injured Soldier and His Family

June 18, 2012 - PRLog -- On June 23, 2012, Tampa personal injury law firm Mandelbaum Trichler will be sponsoring a motorcycle benefit on behalf of PFC Brian Long and his family. PFC Brian Long is an injured soldier who recently returned home after a tour of duty overseas. The firm is the main sponsor of “Hearts and Heroes,” which raises support for seriously injured local soldiers who have returned from duty and are in need of financial assistance.

The benefit will be held on June 23, 2012 at the American Legion Post 138 in Tampa, Florida. All of the funds raised from the benefit will go to PFC Brian Long and his family. The event is scheduled to take place from 11:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M.; the fundraiser will have food, drinks and live music. All of those motorcyclists participating in the event will ride to four other American Legion Posts in a poker run.

PFC Brian Long was injured during routine patrol while serving with the 1451st Transportation Company, North Carolina National Guard in Operation Iraqi Freedom. The vehicle Long was riding in hit an IED, thus projecting PFC Long from the vehicle. As a result of the accident, PFC Long suffered a broken back and head injuries.

PFC Long is married and a father of two boys, ages 3 years and 2 months. PFC Long is confined to a wheelchair the majority of the time, but is able to move on his owns at times. Because of his inability to maintain his balance, he is usually forced back into the wheelchair.
