The International Art Collective Plans Preliminary Bogota Artistic Selection In An Effort to Help Fund Undiscovered Talent From Around the World

USA - The International Art Collective (IAC) a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based out of Carrollton, Texas is busy planning their first ever Artistic Selection in Bogota, Colombia. The idea for the IAC originally came about when President Jason Downing was traveling around the world, soaking up different cultures and meeting some very inspirational people. While choosing souvenirs to bring home, he discovered among the people he met, many artists that had widely creative works of art. He inquired about how they were able to showcase their work, and make it accessible to other communities. The sad fact was, that the artists could barely make a living with their art, let alone spend money on marketing to show their creations, and help support their families.

In 2005 the opportunity and need for discovery collided, and the idea for the International Art Collective was set in motion. The goal of the IAC is to showcase and market different artists and their artwork from around the world. The idea is to get the artist’s names out there, not only in the artist’s country but to the different countries the IAC will be traveling to. They will also expose the art through online media platforms to build a following.

Bogota, Colombia was selected as the IAC’s first destination city to allow their Discovery Teams to branch out and search for undiscovered talent. Accompanying the team will be a guest judge, and local judges will also be invited to help in the final judging for the winners of the selection. There will be a preliminary judging before the final competition. The top 25-50 artists that are selected to participate in the final judging will be judged by the IAC Discovery Teams, as well as the guest judges. The three winners will receive cash prizes, and along with other competitors, will be selected to join the IAC for the Colombian Collection. Their artwork will be purchased and put on display around the world, along with an accompanying biography.

The IAC will not act as agents, but merely as the middle men in connecting the artists with their inquiring art patrons. They are still in need of donations that will help cover hotel, airfare, transportation, shipping, and advertising. Being a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, any donations made to the cause will be tax deductible. Please help a terrific organization, and support the exposure of some very deserving artist’s work. Isn’t that, after all the point of art? To be seen?
