Foundation Helps Pediatric Cancer Survivors with College Planning

Free college admission and financial aid planning services are offered to pediatric cancer survivors and their families by the National GRACE Foundation.

June 12, 2012 - PRLog -- In support of the recent National Cancer Survivor's Day on June 3, 2012, we wanted to share details on the good work being done by the National GRACE Foundation in supporting pediatric cancer patients and survivors with college planning initiatives and counseling services.

Cancer and child are two words that no one wants to hear together ~ two words that the National GRACE Foundation knows all too well and was the basis for its creation back in March 2011.

Little Grace was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. After many months of hospitalization, treatments, and numerous surgeries, little Grace was fortunate to go home, recuperate and work towards living a full life. Fortunately for Grace and for many others affected by pediatric cancer, the survival rate for children diagnosed with pediatric cancer has risen to 80% during the past number of years. This is promising and many of those children diagnosed with cancer will go on to college in the future.

The National GRACE Foundation was created for the sole purpose of helping families  who have been through so much due to cancer treatments and related issues. By providing free admissions and financial aid counseling services to pediatric cancer survivors, the Foundation has assisted many families in realizing their dream of a college education. The Foundation understands first hand the chaotic nature of a family’s life during the cancer treatment process, and provides dedicated and customized college counseling services to families affected by pediatric cancer ~ all at no cost to the family.
All of the families have unique needs and concerns as a result of a cancer diagnosis, such as needing a college located near a pediatric oncology hospital, or requiring specific disability services or an appropriate medical clinic facility.  All of these considerations are unique to students affected by a cancer diagnosis, and the Foundation helps families sort through all of these details in addition to the many details of the college planning process. Every family has unique needs and the National GRACE Foundation helps families along the way.

In order to support the National GRACE Foundation, Financial Aid Sense is donating fifty percent 50% of net revenues from our featured financial aid publication, Financial Aid Sense: A Practical Guide about Financial Aid and the College Financing Process.  Revenues GO DIRECTLY to support the National GRACE Foundation. and their mission of helping families and making a difference........... one student at a time.
