New York Stock Exchange Selects Drupal

June 8, 2012 - PRLog -- What made this transaction so unique was the NYSE’s selection of Drupal’s open source technology to power the commercialization and expansion worldwide.  With $1 billion in revenues expected by 2015, the NYSE has signaled its support to build open source web sites and web tools that are driven by a community of supporters and contributors.
Bob Kerner, Chief Digital Officer for NYSE, stated that a “large and vibrant” community had contributed significantly to their decision to select Drupal. According to the NYXT (the technology division of NYSE), web design and web development for their partners is an essential revenue generator for the company. Over the past 24 months, they have launched over 40 websites with thousands of pages.

At its core Drupal offers the ability for anyone to contribute to its modular platform through Drupal.org. It’s widely expected that the NYXT will release a module designed to dynamically customize views based on a user’s identity on a website. Currently Drupal.org offers tens of thousands of modules that are being updated regularly.
