June 6, 2012 - PRLog -- This is a quote from the United States Surgeon General from a publication released in 2010 entitled, “The Surgeon General’s Vision for a Healthy and Fit Nation” that indicate the seriousness that the obesity pandemic has created for Americans, “Our nation stands at a crossroads. Today’s epidemic of overweight and obesity threatens the historic progress we have made in increasing American’s quality and years of healthy life. Two-third of adults and nearly one in three children are overweight or obese. The sobering impact of these numbers is reflected in the nation’s concurrent epidemics of diabetes, heart disease, and other chronic diseases. If we do not reverse these trends, researchers warn that many of our children—our most precious resource—will be seriously afflicted in early adulthood with medical conditions such as diabetes and heart disease. This future is unacceptable. I ask you to join me in combating this crisis.”

The sad truth behind all this is that our food supply has been adulterated, in other word the fruits and vegetables you buy today have less nutrition in them then they had 40 years ago, so you simply have to eat more to satisfy the bodies continuous cravings for vitamins, minerals and essential and non-essential amino acids. Of course if you eat more, then your body will gain weight. The solution for this problem is to eat smaller amounts of nutritionally dense foods such as protein shakes.

Another major contributing factor is the lack of exercise, but before we call most fat people simply lazy, we have to realize that their bodies are no longer in balance, and if they have metabolic syndrome, when they start to exercise, energy is not being properly delivered to the bodies mitochondria, which have the job of delivering energy to the muscles during exercise. With an inefficient energy conversion process underway, fat people simply have less energy being delivered to their cells for the same amount of food being consumed and same amount of exercise being performed. Hence they get tired more easily during exercise. The only solution for this is to make their body re-sensitized to insulin, so that food energy is being efficiently carried to the mitochondria for conversion to be used by the bodies various systems, especially the muscles during exercise. This will require special workout programs for them.
