Newport’s New SR-Series of Highly Stable, Magnetic-Base Optical Support Rods

PRLog (Press Release) - May 22, 2012 - Newport Corporation, a worldwide leader in laser and photonic solutions that Make, Manage and Measure Light®, introduces the SR-Series Magnetic Optical Support Rods for mounting components to an optical table.  The new, 1.5-inch diameter stainless steel rods are exceptionally stable and rigid, making them ideal for large optical mounts.  For added flexibility, each pedestal rod has two sizes of threaded mounting holes (8-32/M4 and ¼-20/M6) which double their utility.

The SR-Z rods feature graduated height marks and an integrated, high-strength magnet in the pedestal base.  The all-stainless steel clamping fork makes it easy and convenient to clamp the rods to any optical table.  Accessories include the SR-E threaded extension rods, the SR-S spacers, the SR-Q mounting cube and thread adaptor, the SR-SC sliding clamp, and the SR-ADP mounting adaptor.  Using the SR-ADP mounting adaptor, components such as mirror mounts can be rod-mounted at varying and non-standard heights.  If pedestal mounting is needed without the magnetic base, Newport’s SR-B pedestal base is available which can be combined with the SR-E extension posts, SR-S spacers and the SR-ADP for multiple height configurations.
