COMPUTERLINKS adds UCOPIA to its wireless portfolio

New distribution deal enables resellers to bring cost savings in operations and tech support for Wi-Fi service providers in businesses, hotels, schools, hospitals and local authorities

May 15, 2012 - PRLog -- Newmarket, 14th May 2012: COMPUTERLINKS UK, the next generation distributor of IT security and Internet technology solutions, today announced a new distribution agreement in the UK and Ireland with UCOPIA Communications, a leading provider of security, mobility management and convergence solutions for voice, video and data applications on wired and wireless networks.

The agreement means that COMPUTERLINKS’ channel partners will now be able to complement their existing Wi-Fi infrastructure, including Ruckus Wireless, with UCOPIA’s Express, Advance or Eco-systems wireless solutions. These deliver:

•   A powerful authentication web portal that handles password provisioning, authentication and branding
•   Flexible user profile access control that lists the applications and services available to end-users
•   Zero configuration access which means there is no need for end users to reconfigure their device due to network configuration constraints or for the organisation to provide technical support
•   Full traceability as all traffic and session information is stored in an SQL database.

“Demand for Wi-Fi access to public and corporate networks is increasing all the time as working practices become more flexible and the appetite of users for mobile devices becomes virtually insatiable. To remain competitive, organisations of all sizes must have the means to cost-effectively and securely provide not only the infrastructure, but also the administration support to make the user experience as smooth as possible,” said David Caughtry, director of core technology at COMPUTERLINKS. “The agreement with UCOPIA means our channel partners now have access to a full range of tools that will enable them to deliver comprehensive guest access solutions to their clients and fast return to their businesses.”

The agreement further enhances COMPUTERLINKS’ established IT and network security capabilities by offering resellers access to Wi-Fi administration and management solutions to complement existing wireless network infrastructure solutions.

“We’re operating in a fast-growing and highly competitive market, so it’s vital we have the distribution infrastructure in place to enable us to support our customers effectively, and accelerate growth in this dynamic environment,” explained Didier Plateau, founder and CEO at UCOPIA Communications. “COMPUTERLINKS has the necessary depth of experience in networking and IT security, combined with a global presence and support infrastructure that will allow us to accelerate our growth while continuing to deliver excellent service to our clients.”
