Around the World in 80 Miles a Shawangunk Wine Trail Event

May 15, 2012 - PRLog -- Who doesn't want to travel the world?  Time, money, family & work obligations may keep many from doing so, but there is a way to experience a bit of the magic right in the Hudson Valley.  Soon, the Shawangunk Wine Trail hosts its annual Around the World in 80 miles event.  Its not Bravo's "Around the World in 80 Plates," but something that won't empty your pocketbook and will be infinitely less time consuming.   The wine trail wineries invite you to embark on a two day adventure on June 16th & 17th from 10 am to 6 pm as they provide a self guided tour of 4, 8 or 12 different countries.  

Each winery takes on the international flavor of a different country, serving samplings of a fabulous dish while highlighting  individually delicious regional wines. Full 12 wineries passports are available for just $32.15 including tax.  Visas to visit 4 wineries are available for those wanting to take a leisurely tour of fewer countries ($16.22 including tax).  All tickets include your passport, souvenir wine glass plus sampling of food and wine at each country you visit.

Spur Visa 1 -  Experience a bit of the British Virgin Islands at Applewood Winery,  the flavors of Mexico at Brotherhood, America's Oldest Winery,  the Aroma of India at Palaia Vineyards, & the sensations of France at Warwick Valley Winery & Distillery.

Spur Visa 2 - Adair Vineyards,  takes on the exotic scents of Jamaica while Benmarl Vineyards will make you feel at home in Morocco; Glorie Farm Winery welcomes you to Spain & Stoutridge shows you how it's done right here in the USA.

Spur Visa 3 Baldwin Vineyards will delight you with the tastes of Italy, while Brimstone Hill Vineyards invites you to experience at bit of Sweden;  the newest member of the wine trail, Robibero Family Vineyards, takes you to China & Whitecliff Vineyards let's you experience all the best of Thailand.

You may wish to obtain a special Designated Driver visa to allow safe travel for your group.
