of summer as a family fun day including activities for all ages, while taking on a philanthropic component as well.
Initiated in Southern California in 2003, Go Skateboarding Day has grown into a global event observed in more than 150 nations on June 21st each year. This year, in addition to providing local skateboarders with the opportunity to formally dedicate the date to their favorite activity while participating in a best trick competition, a jam session, and a push race around the perimeter of Fleischmann Park, industry favorite DJ CERON will mix music as event participants enjoy live graffiti artistry provided by local commercial artist Juan Diaz, a selection of delicious cuisine offered by a number of the area’s best restaurants, and family activities including a rock climbing wall, a bounce house, and waterslide. Additionally, the sponsors of Go Skateboarding Day, Naples, are further distinguishing the event through their commitment to providing 100% of the proceeds
to local, family-focused, not for profit organizations. When recently asked why she would
participate in founding the event, Michelle Reed stated “More than just being recognized as a loving mother and wife; or as an industry-leading photographer, I want to be remembered as making a difference in people’s life. As giving back”.
