Follow on Google News | Campaign for Mansfield ISD School Board Takes Ugly TurnDora Watson complains that someone is stealing and damaging her political signs.
By: Elect Dora Watson Campaign Candidate Watson pointed to one area where she had erected 24 signs and all of them have been removed. She checked with city and school officials and was assured that the signs had not been removed by city or school officials. “This is very frustrating and costly,” said Watson. She stated that well over 200 signs had been removed or damaged beyond use to the tune of in excess of $1,200.00. Watson noted that in some places her signs were removed and replaced with signs of her opponent. In other places her signs were removed and those of her opponent were left intact. Asked whether she thought her opponent was responsible for the removal and destruction of her signs Watson refused to speculate on who is responsible. She did say that an investigation is underway to determine who is responsible for the removal and destruction of her signs. She warned that the police have indicated to her that given the increasing value of the stolen and damaged signs, whoever is responsible now faces felony charges. “You would think that after Watergate such dirty tricks would no longer be played in politics. This is especially pernicious in this race for the school board where we are supposed to be setting the proper example for our children,” lamented Watson. “How can we teach good sportsmanship and fair play to our children if adults cannot govern ourselves by the same principles?” she asked.
