Last year Glasgow held 118 free events in 5 days featuring internationally renowned speakers and global brands like Nokia and Google, making it one of the most successful cities in the history of the movement.The novel crowdsourced format means the majority of the free events are created by its participants, ensuring diversity, inclusion and creativity.
To announce SMW 2012 a global photography competition using Instagram has been launched to find the best pictures from the participating cities. The winner of the competition will have the opportunity to travel to one of the participating cities of their choice during Social Media Week which takes place 24-28th September.
