PulseBlock Provides Government, Businesses and Hospitals Protection Against Electronic Damage

Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) is one of the greatest threats not just to the U.S., but all technologically advanced countries. An EMP can be man-made or come from nature and can destroy any device with a microchip which is nearly everything today.

May 2, 2012 - PRLog -- COLUMBIA, MD May 2, 2012 – PulseBlock, LLC recently announced a line of military grade portable cases and custom enclosures up to the size of a room that protects electronics from the effects of an electromagnetic pulse (EMP). Governments, businesses, hospitals and other organizations are at risk of losing their data and electronics as a result of a man made or naturally occurring electromagnetic pulse caused by a large solar storm or a nuclear weapon detonated in the atmosphere. Ninety-nine percent of disaster recovery plans do not include recovering from an EMP. Without protection every device with a microprocessor will cease to function after an EMP. No unprotected device is safe.

PulseBlock cases are designed so that the energy from an EMP is redirected around the contents inside. The cases are also water-proof, rugged, and pressurized.

The threat of an EMP is very real. According to a Washington Times report dated April 25, 2012 the threat is prompting the Pentagon to take steps to harden its computers and electronics against the devastating effects of EMP weapons. The Homeland Security News Wire published an article titled “Solar storms and infrastructure vulnerabilities” and Professor Mike Hapgood, chair of an expert group advising the government on space weather risks was quoted as saying “that we should be preparing for a once in a thousand year solar storm.”

According to the EMP Commission the U.S. is not prepared for an EMP event and when one does occur we could experience financial losses of more than $2 trillion dollars the first year alone. Computers, medical equipment, televisions, smart-phones, or any other technologically advanced device will not work. The movie, music, and gaming industries along with many others could be out of business if their computers and hard drives are damaged or destroyed. Nearly all data centers are not EMP hardened and insurance may not cover your losses in such an event.
