By: Kempton Park Race Course Among the mascots running in the charity race will be: Mr Bullseye from the well-loved television show, Kingsley Royal from Reading FC, Mr Bumble from Barnet FC, Reggie the Red from Guildford Heat Basketball Club, Haydon the Womble from AFC Wimbledon, Digger from London Irish and Scotty the Stag from Windsor FC. Families are encouraged to bring their children along to cheer on the mascots and enjoy the other activities on offer. There will be a unique chance to visit a mobile petting farm, where kids will get the opportunity to bottle feed animals and play with rabbits and chicks. For children curious about horses, there will be pony rides along the historic Grand National racecourse. Face painting, balloon artists and a host of other crafts and fun activities. The event is being held on behalf of Heart FM’s ‘Have a Heart’ charity, which aims to help disadvantaged children from local communities. Heart FM DJ, Toby Anstis commented “The Mascot Grand National at Kempton Park will be a great day out for all the family.” Previous fund raisers have benefited Starlight Children’s Foundation who run hospices caring for seriously ill children in the UK. Kempton Park opens its gates at 12:15pm on Bank Holiday Monday May the 7th, with the first horse race taking place at 2.15pm. The Mascot Grand National will take place after the third and final race and the Mascots will be out of the starting gates at 5:15pm.
