Fairview Microwave is now offering anti-torque stainless steel SMA cables

April 25, 2012 - PRLog -- Fairview Microwave is now offering anti-torque stainless steel SMA cables.  These cables would be handy when connecting two SMA connections.  These hand formable cables are for special bending applications and especially good at a bend and finish type situations.  The cables are technically semirigid but can also be classified as a semi-flexable cable.  The semi-flexable cable types are generally preferred over a solid aluminum type for solid aluminum type cables are more rigid.  With the SF085 cable type  you have a combination of both flexability with rigidness.  The cable assembly is built with SF085 tin dipped solder braid cable.  Fairview microwave has two types; the first has a diameter of .085 inches, the second has a diameter of .141 inches and both have capabilities to reach frequencies up to 18 ghz.  The .085 type will have more flexability while the .141 type will be better with performance and return loss.  SF085 has a velocity propogation of 69.5% and a frequency cutoff at 20 ghz.  SF085 has excellent bend radius properties with the bend radius specified at .25 inches.  This type of bend radius would be great for applications with limited space and sense system integration.  The specialty of this cable is that it comes with anti torque nuts on the cable assembly.  The anti-torque nut may be useful when support of the connector body is needed during installation alleviating risk of stress to the connector and cable interfaces.  SCA45086 and SCA38141 come with stainless steel SMA's with a recommended mating torque of 8 to 10 inch pounds.  The cable currently comes with a SMA configuration, for other configurations contact Fairview Microwave.  Various lengths are in stock, Fairview Microwave currently have lengths from 3 inches to 36 inches.  Fairview Microwave offers the cable in subject and other semirigid cables types at http://www.fairviewmicrowave.com/smasemirigidcables.htm.  Other coaxial cable offerings can be found at http://www.fairviewmicrowave.com/microwave_rf_cables.htm.  If your requirement is flexable cables, they can be found at http://www.fairviewmicrowave.com/smasmahflexcable.htm
