Author Deborah Dolen Hits Amazon Best Sellers List With Three Books Winter 2012

What books did Deborah Dolen pen to make the grade on Amazon’s Bestseller list? Hand Writing Analysis in Psychology, The Beekeepers Digest and one of her earliest books Floral Design 101.

April 24, 2012 - PRLog -- It was only Christmas of 2011 Author Deborah Dolen signed exclusively with the Amazon Kindle program to sell her DIY books and films.  Within that 90 day window three of Ms. Dolen’s books hit the Amazon Bestsellers book list at http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&rh=n%3A283155%2Ck%3Adeborah%20dolen&page=1  which is relatively unheard of in such a short amount of time.  By the start of 2012 Ms. Dolen contracted with Amazon to be part of Amazon’s Prime Member offering and those statistics are not counted in Best Selling book sales.  The Prime Member program is where any Amazon Prime Member can “borrow” a book at no charge and no particular return date.

What did author Deborah Dolen have to say about the news of Hand Writing Analysis in Psychology, The Beekeepers Digest and one of her earliest books Floral Design 101?  “I honestly did not know until way after the fact.  I was hoping maybe by Christmas 2012 to have one book make Amazons most sought after list.”

Ms. Dolen’s books went out of print a few years ago and now sell as collectors items on the Amazon platform, some selling as high as $334.93 and one presently at $999 both used and unsigned.  The author says she does not get part of that money.  “Those books are being sold on the collectors’ circuit by avid collectors.”  She said.  “It does help me though when I sign and donate books to causes such as charitable auctions.  At that time the value helps me to help others.”

“I really loved writing The Beekeeper’s Digest and the entire cause that goes behind it.  I wrote most of the text in London and during my time in Dublin, Ireland.  Bees are so important and I am proud to say my name means “the bee” in Hebrew.” states, the author.  “Handwriting Analysis is also fun and fairly accurate.  I am going to write a sequel to that one for sure.”   What other plans does the author have in store?  “I am moving into fiction.  But to be a great fiction writer you must have a lot of non-fiction education.”

What advice would you give aspiring authors?  “I get asked this almost on a daily basis” the author responded.   “First, join a great support group such as Writer’s Digest dot com. They are also on Facebook and Twitter.  I also like Christian Author’s Guild dot com out of Georgia and they have great seminars and even more fellowship and support for writers.  Both groups are hooked up with many book agents and publishers.  I turn to these groups to re-inspire and re-tool.  Another powerful angle is to get a Kindle and join the Prime Membership.  Many books are free, free, free so read, read, and read.  You can take it everywhere without the weight of a bunch of books.  I even just found a free book on writing fiction – called “Dead on Writing” and it even inspired and focused me.”  Watch Deborah's video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWXpxfOJJyU
