‘In terms of the historical backdrop, we have an event of Holocaust proportions, that is still little known amongst the general populous of the western world. It was very important to me to weave my characters and plot through this dramatic and shocking period in history, to produce an unforgettable work which I hope will remain as a lasting memoriam to those who suffered the terror of purges and famine during this dark time in history. This all has special meaning for me, because my late mother-in-law, Ewa Klym, endured this famine as an eight year old child. ’
Said the author, a Marketing Copywriter and former Oxford based publishing house employee, who was keen to defy market trends and the advice of the publishing industry, to create something that was truly authentic and unique.
