April 19, 2012 - PRLog -- This latest addition to Datix enables healthcare providers in the UK to track, monitor and manage the progress of their organisation’s compliance with the Care Quality Commission’s Essential Standards and other regulations as defined in the Health and Social Care Act.

Available immediately, the launch of the Datix CQC Standards Module underlines the company’s commitment to developing solutions that add tangible business value and support good governance.  The new product was developed after consultation with customers to elicit their feedback and encourage their active participation in the design process.

Jonathan Hazan, Chief Executive at Datix commented, “The release of the new CQC Standards Module is the latest milestone in a long journey towards actively building our software around standards regimes in the NHS now and in the future.  By aligning new product development with changes in the industry, we provide customers with robust solutions that streamline the auditing process and enable them to promote best-practice across their organisations.  We worked extensively with our customers during the development of this latest module until we jointly arrived at a solution everyone was happy with. We believe that this approach is fundamental to delivering excellent patient care.”

By deploying the Datix CQC Standards Module, an online application pre-loaded with the 28 Essential Standards of the Care Quality Commission (CQC), healthcare providers will benefit from real-time monitoring and management of their organisation’s CQC standards enabling them to rapidly assess current CQC compliance status at each location.

Should areas of weakness be identified during the assessment process, the new Datix system can be used to create and assign action plans to drive further improvements in quality of care and ensure that compliance with all the required standards is achieved.

Easy to use and navigate, the CQC Standards Module will give frontline staff a consistent view of compliance with CQC standards from board level through to operational staff.   Users simply key raw compliance data into the Datix system against a range of scoring regimes that are aligned with the CQC RAG (red, amber, green) rating system.  This in turn automatically places the information into a pre-defined format as required by CQC inspectors.

A library of critical evidence backed up by the ability to produce powerful management reports further supports the compliance process and facilitates the smooth running of face-to-face inspection meetings.  The Datix document library stores all evidence documents and permits re-use of the same document as evidence for multiple standards.  This avoids duplication and reduces administration because users only need import a document once.

As a fully automated solution, Datix customers will also save valuable time and resources by having instant access to accurate data in real-time as and when they need it via a web browser.
For current Datix customers, the Datix CQC Standards Module is available as an upgrade to their existing Datix system, providing them with a totally integrated platform.

Jonathan Hazan concluded, “Since its foundation in 1986, Datix has been dedicated to improving safety and quality for its healthcare clients. The company has also played a vital role in driving care standards across the healthcare industry.  Datix has developed and marketed a series of software solutions to address several critical NHS standards including the Controls Assurance Standards, the Standards for Better Health and most recently, the new registration criteria laid down by the Care Quality Commission in 2010.  Datix Patient Safety and Risk Management software is now used by over 70% of the NHS throughout the UK.”
