Flight4Life expedition leader heading home in more ways than one.

April 16, 2012 - PRLog -- But rather than flying a paramotor, he’ll be arriving commercially at YLW Kelowna Airport on Thursday morning, April 19.

“It has been a fantastic trip” explained Jennings-Bates, adding “Other than not being able to personally fly for the whole expedition we reached our expectations for the trip and gained some valuable media exposure for both of the charities.”

There is no time to rest for Jennings-Bates however as he is currently training for a 100km ultramarathon in Guatemala in November.

He will also be heading home to one of his first sponsors as he gets behind the wheel of a new rally car. “We are going to be working with Valley Mitsubishi again which is really exciting. I have a rally prepped Mitsubishi Evo IV being delivered in the early summer and this will be a development year as we get to grips with it... it will be a new and welcome addition to the Okanagan and I am thrilled to be working with Rick Wright and the team at Valley Mitsubishi again.”

The Evo IV is a classic rally car and is sure to turn heads at events and in the Okanagan valley. Known for it’s period of dominance on the world rally circuit in the 1990’s while the car is older than the Subaru STi Jennings-Bates has rallied for the past few years, it is iconic in the rally world. The team hopes to attend some autocross meetings throughout the year also and promote the Rally4Life charity.

Jennings-Bates expects to compete in select events in the Canadian Rally Championship as well as the remaining rounds of the Western Canada Rally Championship.

Western Canadian residents will get a chance to see and hear first hand what happened on the world record paramotor expedition as Jennings-Bates and the Rally4Life charity present their story to the communities of Kelowna, Penticton and Vernon. Dates are posted on the expedition website at www.theFlight4Life.com . “We have some epic footage and photos and the adventurous stories of our battle with the weather will keep everyone entertained” explained Jennings-Bates. The talks will be expanded in to Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary and Canmore and as dates become available they will be posted on the Flight4LIfe website.
