Lorelei, a sheer, watery, femme bouquet of early spring blossoms of lilac, wisteria, violet, jonquil, daffodil, and lily, is named for the feminine water spirit of legend and myth that has been celebrated by Sylvia Plath, Mendelssohn, Gershwin, and Marilyn Monroe in “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes”. “The pre-launch feedback we have received concurs that Lorelei is quite unusual in the sense that it isn’t aldehydic like many other ‘aquatic’ fragrances - and yet it’s almost incorporeal in its sheerness, while still providing a distinctive character that is bright and not overbearingly floral,” according to perfumer Shelley Waddington. L’Hombre is a masculine amber fragrance. The opening is a bouquet of fine aged malt scotch, spices, and golden citrus that penetrates a heart of dark coffee and sacred incense. The fragrance finishes with a base of black oud, coffee, mineral amber, Haitian vetiver, tree moss, aged patchouli, and musk. "According to our pre-lauch feedback, L'Ombre is perhaps one of the best masculines we have made," says Waddington. "It is boozy (but not too much), sweet, spicy, mysterious, sexy...in short, everything an earthy man should be. My objectives were to create great longevity, sillage, and drydown, and to avoid an overbearing dominance of oud which can sometimes be a turn-off for users. ” Both Lorelei and L'Ombre are included in the Odyssey Collection and are available for purchase via the EnVoyage Perfumes website.
