Adult fiction and romance author Lizzy Ford launches International Ebook Store

Since she began self-publishing in December, 2010, Ford has steadily built a fan base not only in traditional markets for ebooks - such as the U.S. and U.K. - but also in non-traditional markets in India, Philippines, Pakistan, Malaysia and South Africa. All five of these countries are among the top ten visiting countries on Lizzy's website. A full 40% of her fans are located outside the U.S., and Ford is one of the rare American authors who can sell well in both the U.S. and U.K. Still, Ford's concern was that the readers without access to Amazon's Kindle store or Barnes and Noble's Nook store were still without a viable option for downloading the books they loved.

"I have a lot of fans located in countries outside the reach of Amazon, iTunes and Barnes and Noble.  My strategy last year was to give away free copies to these fans, but the demand became overwhelming.  Our solution was to open a store on my website as a more efficient option for them to purchase and download my books," said Lizzy Ford, author. "I thought that sales would be sluggish to start, since it often takes word-of-mouth marketing a large or lengthy push to get started.  The response was amazing."

Ford explained that she timed the launch of her e-commerce store with the release of the third book of her smash hit series young adult paranormal romance series, "The Rhyn Trilogy". The book entitled "Rhyn's Redemption" sold 1,100 copies on Amazon during the first week of the launch and debuted in the top 500 books at both Amazon U.S. and Amazon U.K. Asked how she ensures her fans receive this kind of news, Ford responded that she uses her website, mailing list and extensive social media marketing.

In addition to the successful store launch and her new release, Ford's paranormal romance, "Damian's Oracle" was featured by USA TODAY a week after launching her store.  

"This week has been a game changer for me," said Ford. "Now I just have to keep up the momentum."
