Follow on Google News | Health Care Providers Council of Pierce County to Honor Caregivers in our CommunitySome people find themselves thrust into the role of caregiver. For others, it is their calling. But, for every caregiver, paid or unpaid, by choice or by circumstance, the care they give comes from their heart, and we want to hear their stories.
By: Vicki Main The Health Care Providers Council, a group of nearly two-hundred health care professionals from the Puget Sound region, is sponsoring and organizing the event to recognize and celebrate the selfless contributions of those who give of themselves to care for others. “Caregivers work diligently every day taking care of the seniors and disabled individuals in our community.” Said Kelly Chambers, owner of Visiting Angels of Tacoma, past President of the Health Care Providers Council, and Chair of the All-Star Caregivers Committee, “They often work alone and get very little recognition for the amazing work they do. We wanted to do something where our community can come together to recognize the outstanding work performed by caregivers. This is just our way of saying, “we know what you do is hard, we appreciate you and thank you for the huge impact you have on peoples’ lives.” Family caregivers and professionals, alike, will be honored at the gala event, to be held May, 23rd, 2012 from 7:00-9:00 PM at the Weatherly Inn, 6016 North Highlands Parkway in Tacoma. For more information about the All-Star Caregiver Recognition dinner, you may contact Kelly Chambers at 253-537-3700.
