Dade County Library Association (DCLA)
PRLog (Press Release) -
Apr. 18, 2012 - Following a brief business meeting, Security and Safety Manager Wil Fowler, from Miami-Dade Public Library System will address attendees and share information about his more than 25 years of law enforcement experience as a Miami Springs police officer and his years as a librarian and how his expertise in both fields helped him create a security plan for the Library System. As the person responsible for overseeing safety issues and security for 50 branch locations, Mr. Fowler will offer important tips on best practices for maintaining safety during times of staff shortages and heavy demand for services. Libraries can maintain their best traditions of openness and public access by creating an unobtrusive yet effective security plan. The question of how to offer excellent customer service for everyone while enforcing the rules of conduct will be his primary focus.
The luncheon is open to the public. Cost - $25 for DCLA members or $41 for non-members. Registration is available online at www.dclamiami.org or at the door. Visit www.dclamiami.org for more information or contact DCLA President Ellen Book at info@dclamiami.org or 305-668-4571.
