The book is set from 1966 to 1969 during a time of intense social change, when the Vietnam War was raging, feminism and sexual liberation were on the forefront and man was placing his first steps on the moon. In this political quagmire, Dr. Leonardo Bari questions religion, mathematics, numerology, and whether his daughter’s fate was irrevocably altered on the day he changed her name to Prudence when her mother died after her birth. Can changing a name alter one’s destiny?

On Sep. 28, 1969, the 35th birthday of Brigitte Bardot, and the day a disintegrating comet crashes to Earth near Murchison in southwestern Australia, eminent mathematician Professor Prudence Bari is murdered. Is the Murchison Comet, which Prudence renamed Bardot’s Comet, in any way responsible for her death?

About the Author: Martina Nicolls grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, and currently resides in Canberra, where she is a humanitarian aid development evaluator and advisor for international governments on education, child labor, peace, science, community development, gender, and management.
