Radio Host Beverly Mahone Discusses Trayvon Martin Case on The Boomer Beat

March 25, 2012 - PRLog -- Radio talk show host Beverly Mahone will give North Carolina listeners an opportunity to hear first-hand what’s going on in Sanford, Florida with the case of Trayvon Martin.  Martin was the seventeen-year-old who was shot to death last month by a neighborhood watch captain named George Zimmerman.

Special guest for the show will be fellow veteran journalist Gail Paschall-Brown, one of the lead reporters covering the story for WESH-TV in Orlando.  According to Mahone, Paschall-Brown will shed light on how this story originally came to light and what’s going on in the community since Tayvon’s death.  She says, “People everywhere want to know more about this case because there are still too many unanswered questions. Why would a grown man with a gun feel so threatened by an unarmed teenager?  What is the relationship between black residents there and the police? “ These are some of the questions Mahone says she will pose to Paschall-Brown during the interview.  

Mahone says the Trayvon Martin story is one many baby boomers can relate to because it could be their own son or grandson who was killed.  “The story is personal for me because I know how real this tragedy could be for my own grandson.”
