More than 700 students from 44 colleges from both the districts participated in the event. Mr.P.Ramnath, Chief Executive Officer, Sterlite Copper distributed the prizes and certificates to the winners and addressed the gathering. Mr.P.Ramnath, also listed out the various initiatives being carried out by the corporate for the benefit of students in Thoothukudi.
The competitions included Ads Up, Rangoli, Collage, Elocution (English), Elocution (Tamil), Team dance, Solo performance, Fashion show and Quiz. Individual first, second and third prizes were given to all the winners of the events. Government College of Engineering, Tirunelveli was adjudged as overall champions of Steco Fest-2012. Students of Government College of Engineering, Tirunelveli received the championship trophy and a cash award of Rs 30,000. MDT Hindu College, Tirunelveli bagged the second place and were awarded with a trophy and
Rs 20,000.
