Floré, LLC Fine Flowers’ Friedlander commented, “We are grateful to our past clients for taking the time to review our business on WeddingWire. Thanks to their positive feedback, we were selected to receive the WeddingWire Bride’s Choice Awards™ once again for 2012.”
Wedding flower design trends Friedlander is noting in 2012 is towards “lots of large bloomed flowers that give the appearance of being in full bloom and have that hand-picked appearance. Flowers such as garden roses, peonies, ranunculus, hydrangeas, lisanthus, and anemones are in demand. A greater use of texture and the variety of texture will also be featured, including the use of succulents in the bridal bouquet design. Dusty Miller, with its velvet feel and dusty gray/green color foliage is also becoming very popular. Wedding bouquets will be adorned with pearls, lace, or vintage, sparkly brooches on the stems.”
Hand-in-hand with the current “green weddings” trend, Friedlander sees vintage as another theme going strong in 2012. “The vintage theme ties into having an eco-friendly wedding plus DIY personalized elements. The reuse of collected or heirloom items bring a romantic, retro feeling without adding any additional carbon footprint. We’ve had brides bring in their collection of milk glass vases, chamber pots and old colorful mason jars for centerpieces. Old china patterns have been used for cupcake stands. The more eclectic, the more creative we can get! Burlap, antique fabrics and lace details, whether placed on the tables or bouquet handle, add just the right sentimental, vintage touch.”
