Batelco Chooses Jinny to Help Modernise Infrastructure and Extend New Services

Leading Bahrain Mobile Operator strengthens its partnership with Jinny to update its messaging centre and launch USSD services

Feb. 21, 2012 - PRLog -- Jinny Software, a leading global supplier of messaging, call completion, mobile advertising and rich communications solutions to mobile operators, today announces a deal to supply Batelco Bahrain with a suite of messaging solutions, including an MMSC, a WAP Gateway, VAS upgrades and a USSD Gateway.

As part of the Batelco group, which leads the market in Bahrain, Kuwait and Yemen, Batelco Bahrain now has over 11 million subscribers, having expanded its customer base by 20% in 2011. In order to protect market share, Batelco is focusing on offering customers a broad suite of value-added services, including the launch of Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD).

A statement from Batelco Bahrain reads, “Our aim is to retain our market leading position across the full spectrum of telecommunications services. Jinny has historically been a good partner to us in providing solutions that are robust, scalable, and simple to integrate. Choosing Jinny for the MMSC and USSD solutions was a natural progression.”

Jinny has been delivering messaging solutions worldwide for over 10 years, and already had a number of solutions in place at Batelco. “USSD and MMS are both areas of revenue growth for operators,” says Richard Choi, Jinny Chief Commercial Officer. “We are delighted to extend our relationship with Batelco to help them bring new services to their customers.”

With the Jinny MMSC, Batelco will be able to more effectively channel revenues from media sharing and MMS broadcasting, and with Jinny’s USSD solution they will acquire a cost-effective way to roll out innovative, interactive services such as self-case, mobile banking and mobile advertising.
