By: CSULA Public Affairs The STTR program, established through the U.S. Department of Defense, provides up to $850,000 in early stage research and development funding directly to the small businesses working cooperatively with researchers at universities and other research institutions. Co-sponsored by The Boeing Company and the SBDC, the one-day networking event will showcase engineering/ “The forum aims to combine the strengths of small businesses and universities by introducing entrepreneurial skills to high-tech research efforts,” said College Dean Keith Moo-Young. The SBDC at Cal State LA., which is part of the SBDC Los Angeles Regional Network, strives to provide confidential individualized consulting and training to new and growing businesses, with specialized services for technology-based small businesses and start-up companies. WHAT: The Small Business Development Center (SBDC)—hosted by the College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Technology at Cal State L.A.—to present a Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Workshop in collaboration with The Boeing Company. WHO: U.S. Department of Defense personnel, Boeing representatives, professional engineers, small business owners, and university faculty members will be in attendance.
