Feb. 9, 2012 - PRLog -- Nanospire, Inc. is announcing successful completion of its investigation of fusion produced by the phenomena of cavitation in water, providing profound implications for the utilities and energy industries. Under the right conditions, cavitation, a form of boiling, can produce high speed jets as the cavitation bubbles collapse. NanoSpire has pioneered the controlled formation and aiming of these (known as re-entrant) jets, resulting in four recently issued patents. The technology reaches across many markets, including many applications in nanotechnology and energy. Examples of core applications include nano/micro fabrication, targeted drug delivery, microsurgery, photovoltaic solar, cost-effective algae oil extraction for producing biodiesel and fusion.

The discovery of the zero point energy based LeClair Effect triggering fusion, fission and large scale elemental transmutation by Mark LeClair and Serge Lebid was historic and could solve both the energy and natural resource crisises. The LeClair Effect explains excess heat and transmutation observed in electrolytic cells (Pons, Fleischmann & others) and by hydrodynamic means such as the Griggs pump or sonofusion (ultrasound), cavitation is present in all of them. The current technology could easily provide large scale production of hot water for residential, commercial and industrial hot water at a capital and operating cost far lower than fossil fuel, nuclear and other LENR-based technologies. NanoSpire is currently seeking investors, licensees or joint venture partners to accelerate commercialization and development of the technology.

About NanoSpire: The NanoSpire team members are recognized world experts in cavitation processing and physics. Founded in January 2002, Nanospire has developed a method to commercialize a new generation of cavitation reentrant jet-based tools and processes. NanoSpire provides the first machine tool capable of cutting, drilling, welding, hammering, and annealing materials only a few nanometres in size by harnessing and controlling the size, direction and energy of cavitation microjets. NanoSpire’s team has been invited to present at numerous nanotechnology conferences. NanoSpire won the prestigious international Innovation Technology Award at the Nanotech 2003 + Future Conference in Tokyo.

Mark L. LeClair, Founder, President and CEO: Mark is a recognized expert in industrial and military applications associated with cavitation. He is knowledgeable regarding the people, companies, & products currently in the space. In 1983 he earned a BS in mechanical engineering with honors and in 1988 a MS in mechanical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), Worcester, MA. In 2002 Mark founded NanoSpire, Inc. along with co-founder Serge Lebid, to harness cavitation at its most fundamental level for a host of applications. In 1994, LeClair founded CFD Associates, a computational fluid dynamics firm consulting widely in cavitation and CFD. Clients included DuPont Central Research, Estee Lauder, NASA (CFD model of ISS) pharmaceutical companies including Merck & Perkin-Elmer and many companies involved in mixing and cavitation dispersion. He was a top hydrodynamicist in the elite Fluid Mechanics Group 81-11, Lockheed Missiles and Space Co. from 1989 – 1994, responsible for hydrodynamic and CFD analysis of cavitation and super-cavitation during the underwater launch performance of the Trident I & II missiles. LeClair received numerous awards and commendations for his work from both Lockheed and a commendation from RADM John T. Mitchell, the US Navy Director of Strategic Systems Programs Office (and later a Deputy Director of Los Alamos). He was awarded the following five US patents in harnessing cavitation: LeClair, M. L. , et. al., Method and Apparatus for Producing Liquid Suspensions of Finely Divided Matter, U.S. Patent No. 5,522,553 a high-shear cavitating rotor-stator mixing/pumping device. Issued June 4, 1996. LeClair, M. L., Method and Apparatus for the Controlled Formation of Cavitation Bubbles. US Patent No. 6,960,307 issued Nov. 1, 2005.

LeClair, M. L., Method and Apparatus for the Controlled Formation of Cavitation Bubbles Using Target Bubbles. US Patent No. 6,932,914 issued Aug. 23, 2005.

LeClair, M. L., Method and Apparatus for the Controlled Formation of Cavitation Bubbles Using Target Bubbles. US Patent No. 7,297,288 issued Nov. 20, 2007.

LeClair, M. L., Method and Apparatus for the Controlled Formation of Cavitation Bubbles. US Patent No. 7,517,430 issued April. 14, 2009.

Sergio Lebid, Co-Founder, EVP: Lebid was Co-founder and previously VP of Sales and Marketing for Five Star Technologies, Inc., Cleveland, OH, a well-known cavitation processing nanophase materials company and former equipment manufacturer. A world recognized expert in the field of cavitation processing, Sergio has twenty years of experience producing nanophase materials, business development and technical experience and experience in sales and marketing. He earned his '79 BBA degree from Cleveland State University in international business management.

Lebid was co-founder, Vice President of Technical Sales, Services and Marketing at Five Star Technologies from June 1995 – October 1999. He initiated and co-founded the company with another cavitation expert and his patented hydrodynamic cavitation-based mixing and reaction technology and equipment. Lebid managed technical sales and services and business development of low to ultra high shear hydrodynamic cavitation based processing technologies and equipment (Controlled Flow Cavitation™) to chemical, pharmaceutical, personal care products, cosmetics, food, etc. processors and engineering firms for emulsion (i.e. improved liposome and crystallization formulations), dispersion, chemical synthesis of nanostructured materials (nanotechnology) processing, and water treatment. LEBID & ASSOCIATES, a Cleveland, Ohio nanotechnology & international business consulting firm was formed in October 1999 to introduce nanotechnology commercialization and technology development opportunities to global potential users and investors. Lebid cofounded NanoSpire, Inc. with Mark LeClair in 2002 to develop cavitation based nanotechnology.
