By: Five Acres Five Acres’ Adoptions Program provides support to children and adoptive families to nurture lifetime commitments, ensure permanency for children, expedite the adoption process and reduce disruption of adoption. Five Acres’ Adoptions Program strives to empower children and parents to build and sustain family wellness and permanency at any stage along the adoption continuum. The $10,000 prize will be used to revamp their multipurpose room used for meetings, group discussion, training/coaching sessions and family fun. “Thank you to all those who casted votes for Five Acres in this contest” said Marianne Guilfoyle, adoption program supervisor at Five Acres. “We are so grateful for the opportunity to improve upon our ability to serve the members of the adoption constellation within our community through IKEA's generous donation of time, talent and funding.” About Five Acres: Five Acres is a child and family services agency that strengthens families and prevents child abuse through treatment and education in community-based and residential programs. Originally established as an orphanage in 1888, today Five Acres offers an array of services including a residential treatment center, a non-public WASC-accredited school, mental health services, foster care, adoption services and domestic violence prevention.
