Jan. 30, 2012 - PRLog -- CHANDLER, AZ – [January 27, 2012] – Deemed “the funniest woman in America” by fellow comedian Lewis Black, comic Kathleen Madigan is charming audiences around the U.S. with the “Gone Madigan” tour.  With her new hit Showtime special, Gone Madigan in continuous rotation on the network and topping the charts on iTunes and Amazon, she has never been more on fire in her 22 year career than she is in 2012. Kathleen Madigan will perform at Chandler Center for the Arts on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 8:00pm. Tickets are $22, $26 and $32.

Just last month, Madigan took the stage with Lewis Black, Lance Armstrong, Kix Brooks and Robin Williams for her second run at the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff USO Holiday Tour of Afghanistan and Iraq, hosted by Admiral Mike Mullen.  After returning from the thrilling and rewarding ten day tour, she hit the ground running with appearances on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, The Joy Behar Show in New York, The Green Room with Paul Provenza and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

In addition to her most recent television gigs, Kathleen Madigan has had her own hour long stand-up specials on Comedy Central and HBO, appeared on David Letterman and The Conan O’Brien Show, and has even had stints on CNN, VH1, E!, CMT and ESPN.  On NBC’s Last Comic Standing in 2004, she was the only unchallenged comedian.  Just a few short years after her victory, Madigan was brought back on in 2007 for the show’s fifth as a talent scout.

Today she still holds the title of the only comic to go unchallenged in the history of NBC’s Last Comic Standing, meaning that there was not a single comedian who would proclaim that they were funnier than her.

Kathleen Madigan has won the Phyllis Diller Award for “Best Female Comedian” as well as the American Comedy Award for “Best Female Comedian.”  Though her love of performing has taken priority over other opportunities that have come her way in her career, Madigan’s behind the scenes credits include writing and producing for Garry Shandling and Root of All Evil, Lewis Black’s Comedy Central special.

The popular female comedian is no stranger to the airwaves, either, as she is a fan favorite on The Stephanie Miller Show and The Bob and Tom Show, two highly acclaimed nationally syndicated radio shows.  Last year, she conquered all of her male competitors, including big names such as Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy in the “SIRIUS Challenge Cup.” The competition was judged by listeners, who ultimately named her the SIRIUS Satellite Radio number one favorite comedian.  Kathleen Madigan continues to be a regular contributor on SIRIUS, delighting and surprising audiences across the country.

Chandler Center for the Arts is thrilled to be a stop on the must-see “Gone Madigan” tour in 2012.
