Jan. 20, 2012 - PRLog -- In his lastest song, Maryland songwriter John Ringer calls out the US police state. "When SWAT teams break down doors for unpaid student loans it should be clear to everyone, but for some reason it isn't. I don't see how anyone can sing 'The Star Spangled Banner' with a clear conscience these days" says Ringer. He adds "Any radio station still playing 'God Bless the USA' is doing a public disservice."
Using the US flag "union down" as a distress symbol, Ringer's song, titled "My Country My Ass" counters these nostalgiac tunes with a dose of cold reality, sounding like a cross between Frank Zappa and John Fogerty.
The song has already been played on a few radio stations, as well as featured on the Neal Boortz syndicated radio show.   The song has been sent to about 600 radio stations nationwide. A full list of these radio stations, along with their e mail and contact links, as well as a free download of the song is available at http://mycountrymyass.com
Welcome to the new patriotism.
