SIPP Index to Track Effectiveness of 2012 Presidential Candidates Web Strategy

Jan. 13, 2012 - PRLog -- Michigan-based Spartan Internet Consulting continues its widely acclaimed SIPP Index for the 2012 presidential election.

The SIPP Index is the only quantitative metric to measure the Internet-wide performance of each Presidential candidate. The Index consists of over 650 quantitative factors measuring candidates’ influence across the web and their level of support.

Each factor is derived from numeric values such as social network outreach, blog presence, search engine utilization and web site traffic. The scores given to each candidate represents their overall Internet market share and is indicative of their ability to reach individuals online. Data collection started Nov. 14th and will continue on a weekly basis until the presidential election.

Since Nov. 14th, Two GOP candidates have dropped from the race; Herman Cain and Michele Bachmann. During the week of Dec. 5, 2011, the internet market share for Herman Cain increased dramatically. This can be explained by the fact that there were allegations against him, which eventually led to the indefinite suspension of his campaign. We have yet to see how the Iowa Caucus affects the internet presence of the candidates, but we can expect each of the candidates’ internet marketing strategy to change, due to either their performance at the Iowa Caucus, or the fact that Michele Bachmann dropped from the race.
