Breakfast with Butterflies at SGNP

Jan. 10, 2012 - PRLog -- Join us this Sunday winter morning on 15th Jan 2012 for a tryst with nature – Breakfast with Butterflies. Conducted at our very own Sanjay Gandhi national park, the session aims to introduce the various species of butterflies and their life cycles to the visitors. With more than 125 species of butterflies in the park, it is sure to be an exciting day.

While we invite butterflies over breakfast and take photographs, a reputed naturalist also covers aspects like classification, life cycle, behavior of the different species over a nature trail in SGNP.

About the park:

Sanjay Gandhi National Park also known as Borivali National Park encompasses an area of around 104 sq kms. Also called by some as the island park, the park is known for it’s rich flora and fauna. The park is located in the northern suburbs.
This park has approximately 500 types of flowering plants, 250 species of birds, 30 species of mammals, 125 species of butterfly. It is also famous for the flowering plant named as "Karvi" which blooms every 7 years.

Plan:

- Assemble at Sanjay Gandhi National Park by 8:00 AM

- We begin the day with introduction about Sanjay Gandhi National park where the flora, fauna and topography of the park would be discussed looking at the 3–D model of the park.

- After breakfast, We start the nature trail.

- We wind the program by 12.00 Noon.

Please Note:
-Last date for registration for the event will be Friday, 13/01/2012
-Keep the trail route & surrounding clean.
-Leaving your garbage anywhere during the trail is not allowed.
-Smoking and Alcohol during the trail is not allowed.

Cost: Rs. 600/- per person.
