PRLog (Press Release) - Jan. 1, 2012 - Before sending your daughter or loved one to India, you must understand the risks. The level of respect towards women within India is extremely low. Over 53% of children are sexually abused in India according to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/
There are even commercials created telling Indian's to not harass female tourists because India needs the tourists. http://www.youtube.com/
A few weeks ago, the BBC covered a topic discussing the sexual harassment within India here - http://www.bbc.co.uk/
Women in India that accuse anyone of sexual abuse are simply mocked and told they cannot continue their career. http://www.youtube.com/
I decided to cover this topic when I watched an online video of a very wealthy mans travels to India and his wife was surrounded by a group of men, then the woman was inappropriately touched by a man. The thing that really struck me is that nobody condemned it, tried to help and they all seemed to find it amusing.
I wanted to post this to make individuals aware and so that they can do some research before sending a child to school or to travel here.
