Can you stop without quitting?

The news years resolution to quit smoking is all lined up, the last cigarette has been planned, all ashtrays have been removed from the house, you have a years supply of flavoured chewing gum, and this time, yes this time you are going to quit!

How many times have you gone through this scenario only to find yourself reaching for the cigarettes after a few days, full of doubt and self-loathing?

Well this year could be different. This year you might just stop.

But before we get to the how you may do this, lets explore a few niggling facts. Are you quitting because you should? Are you quitting because everyone says cigarettes are bad, and smelly and expensive, and blah, blah, blah? Do you secretly (or openly) enjoy smoking?  Or do you genuinely want to stop but just find it really hard? If you have said yes to any of these points it any wonder that you haven’t quit?
