Dec. 22, 2011 - PRLog -- Wrike delivers the power of cloud-based task management and collaboration into the inboxes of millions of Outlook users with an innovative add-in that transforms emails into live, editable tasks. With this release, Outlook is turned into a real-time collaboration platform that revolutionizes business teams’ productivity without changing the way they are used to working. Wrike’s add-in for Outlook enables workers to have all their task details accumulated in one live view that updates in real time for all the people involved in the task, and it instantly syncs with Wrike’s project management and collaboration app. This saves workers hours on keeping each other up-to-date with work progress, discussing tasks and finding the latest document versions in emails.

“Some might say that email is dead, but the truth is that it’s still the No. 1 tool for business communication. Back when Wrike was conceived, we developed our advanced email integration to help people efficiently deal with mailbox chaos.  This release addresses that challenge, too, but it goes even further. We are turning Outlook, which 30% of email users rely on as their main email client, into a powerful, live collaboration platform where emails are not simply disconnected messages scattered across people’s mailboxes, but interactive tasks updating in real time. It’s a whole new level of efficiency when dealing with email, thanks to the power of the real-time collaboration that we bring to people’s inboxes,” says Andrew Filev, CEO at Wrike.

With Wrike’s add-in for Outlook, any email can be converted into an interactive Wrike task in seconds without the user needing to leave his or her inbox. The subject of the email becomes the task name, and the body of the messages becomes the task description. Users can easily assign and share the tasks with team members, schedule them, include them in particular projects, post comments and attach files to them. With every update, everyone who is involved in a particular task sees the same live task view float up in their Outlook inboxes. This way, instead of long email threads relating to one single task, co-workers have access to the up-to-date task view, which accumulates all the details in one place. The task created in Outlook, as well as all the changes made to it, also instantly appears in Wrike.

“I love this add-in that makes Wrike even more useful. The features and functionality are great, with real-time task creation and task editing right from the email. The big benefit is that it keeps me from letting emails linger in my inbox. I just convert unresolved email into a task and file it away or delete it.  And the add-in was easy to use from the moment I installed it—a very intuitive design overall,” says Meg Keller, director of marketing at GOVERNING.
