New Ultra-Chic Club 'The Standard' Dares To Be Honolulu's Finest Nightlife Experience

Dec. 13, 2011 - PRLog -- Here it is! Honolulu's new STANDARD. The sexy, modern, and sophisticated nightclub taking over Honolulu's night scene is a daring new venue called THE STANDARD, Restaurant, Bar and Club, opening December 30 at Waterfront Plaza (formerly Restaurant Row).

A mecca where music, art, fashion and nightlife infuse, guests will experience savory dishes, evocative drinks and modern beats. Managed by Dani Chu, THE STANDARD offers an exclusive club setting for guests 21 and older, bringing the nightlife vibes of similar hotspots in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and New York to Honolulu.

A bold and discerning destination, THE STANDARD is the ideal venue to host corporate parties, multi-media events, fashion shows at center stage, private soirees, art displays, and any other type of special or catered event.

Interior designer Kylee Acidera has created a clean, contemporary space with distinct and innovative design features using raw materials such as wood, metals, concrete, white wall space and motifs to set the ambience. An array of master artists will be invited to showcase their works in this modern and super sleek venue characterized by three bars, exclusive VIP seating areas, a fantastic stage right above a large dance floor, elevated DJ booth, live Twitter feed, and a brand new kitchen. THE STANDARD will premiere some of the finest talent in music and art, starting with a commissioned piece from L.A.'s world-renowned artist  Slick of DISSIZIT, whose contemporary art creations take center stage on the dance floor.

The interior architecture was designed as an adaptive platform to showcase the ultimate experience in visual effects. An elaborate cutting-edge lighting, video and sound system was created by Sean Agofta-Bidleman, whose company Prysm Enterprises has traveled the world over to create the most inventive, state-of-the-art audio/visual systems available anywhere. Guests will revel in a complete multi-media experience. Lighting sets the mood through dynamic architectural enhancements with a system of moving lights creating movement and excitement on the dance floor.

Our menu reflects an eclectic Pacific Rim/American blend. Whether guests are dining in or looking to cater an event, chef takes a mixed plate of island favorites, skillfully integrates a plethora of fresh local ingredients and gourmet flavors and turns them into superb succulent delights. For example, our take on Braised Short Ribs, includes grilled shrimp Hollandaise sauce topped with roasted mushroom risotto. Other mouth-watering entrees include Grilled Rib Eye with Kabanyaki Butter, Boursin Cheese Stuffed Roasted Chicken and Seared Opakapaka with Vine Ripe Tomato Basil Coulis.

Guests are invited to indulge during Happy Hour in exotic cocktail concoctions and tempting appetizers, all for a great price. To top off any meal, try one of our delicious desserts sure to satisfy any sweet tooth. A grand opening celebration is being held Friday, December 30 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Cocktails and a menu sampling will be served for invite-only guests with live entertainment and the house DJ-- who will keep the party pumping as we open to the public from 10:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m.

THE STANDARD is a destination experience.  We are located at Waterfront Plaza (formerly Restaurant Row) at 500 Ala Moana Blvd. with plenty of free validated parking. 21 and older are welcome.
