Honda of Clear Lake Sponsors Local Houstonian in NYC ING Marathon

Dec. 13, 2011 - PRLog -- On November 6, 2011 Bennett Johnson, New Car Sales Manager at Honda of Clear Lake serving Houston, finished the New York City ING Marathon in the top 7 percent with a finishing time of 3 hours and 21 minutes.

Johnson teamed up with Autism Speaks and Honda of Clear Lake to help raise money to fund research for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that ASD affects one in 110 American children today – a 600 percent increase in the past 20 years.

“Bennett has been with Honda of Clear Lake since 1995 and we really wanted to sponsor him for the New York City marathon as he teamed up with Autism Speaks,” said Tom Tyrrell, Managing Partner of Honda of Clear Lake. “Being involved in the community and supporting our team members is important to us.”

With more than 40,000 runners in the marathon this year, Johnson described his experience of running for his cause.

“The New York City marathon was an amazing experience,” said Johnson. “I was surrounded by elite athletes from all over the world representing their countries and special causes of all types.”
