Rozee.pk ranked amongst Pakistan's top 10 fastest growing companies

Dec. 13, 2011 - PRLog -- ROZEE.PK is proud to announce that it has been ranked amongst the top ten fastest growing companies in the country. The announcement was made by the AllWorld Network in Istanbul at the 2nd Global Summit on Entrepreneurship.

The three-day global summit, held under the theme of ‘Entrepreneurship, Values and Development: A Global Agenda’, was attended by over 2,000 successful entrepreneurs from across the world. It follows the success of the ‘Presidential Entrepreneurship Summit’ hosted by US President Barack Obama in Washington in April last year. The Summit seeks to deepen ties between business leaders, foundations, and entrepreneurs in the United States and Muslim communities around the world. Moreover, it looks towards ways to improve the culture of entrepreneurship for cross cultural approximation and sustainable development, while supporting global cooperation among entrepreneurs.  

This interim list of the Pakistan Fast Growth 100 was unveiled during the Summit and will also form a part of AllWorld’s Asia Fast Growth 500 ranking, which serves as a definitive record of the most dynamic entrepreneurs throughout Asia.  ROZEE.PK has ranked at #9 on the list, with a staggering growth rate of 304% between the years 2008-2010.

The top 100 fastest growing companies were selected out of a pool of thousands of contenders, chosen from amongst private companies, for-profit, corporations, as well as partnerships, or proprietorships. Non-profit companies, holding companies, franchises, banks and utility companies were excluded from the entry process, as were private companies established by the government or in which the government is a majority stakeholder. Contenders were required to have a minimum 3-year operating history and sales of at least US$100,000 in 2008 and US$500,000 in 2010.

Each Pakistani entrepreneur on the ranking has grown an average of 40 percent annually between 2008 and 2010, created an average of 200 jobs per company, and is succeeding in industries from web technology to transportation, food to textiles, and construction to consulting.  An average of only 42 years old, nearly all of them plan to establish another entrepreneurial venture in the next two years.

ROZEE.PK is also in the top 4% of AllWorld’s Arabia Fast Growth 500 list, which ranks companies from over 15 countries in the Middle East, North Africa, Turkey and Pakistan.

AllWorld was co-founded by Deirdre Coyle, Anne Habiby and Harvard Business School Professor Michael Porter. AllWorld systematically identifies private growth companies and ranks the fastest growing for the Arabia 500, Africa 500, Asia 500, Eurasia 500, and Latin America 500.  Being on an AllWorld ranking puts companies on the world map, drawing the market to them – what AllWorld calls the Visibility EconomicsTM.  Ranked companies “go public,” attracting new investors, customers, joint venture partners and talent to increase their odds of success.

Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Pakistan’s Finance Minister commented on the occasion, “The strong performance of Pakistani companies in Arabia500 illustrates that in spite of the challenges there continues to be strong business and investment opportunity in Pakistan. Pakistani companies in Arabia500 are surfacing new horizons for growth and quickening the pace of economic development and regional integration.”

During the three-day Summit, hosted by Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan and inaugurated by US Vice President Biden, Mr Rahman also met with winners from 14 other countries. He was one of the few Pakistani entrepreneurs, and amongst the top entrepreneurs from the Muslim world, to be invited to this prestigious event. In addition, Mr Rahman was chosen to participate in a panel discussion on ‘Talent Strategies for Growth’, moderated by Karen Dilon of Harvard Business Review. In spite of operating in challenging times, Mr Rahman’s successful and highly acclaimed participation illustrated how ROZEE.PK has managed to positively highlight Pakistan’s aggregate business acumen.
